Awarded music scholarships to both Rossall School and Chetham’s, Lindsay studied piano and accordion before earning a First-Class BMus (Hons), an LTCL in Piano Performance (undertaken under the mentorship of the former Head of Keyboard Studies at Chetham’s School of Music), a PGDE in Secondary Music Education with QTS (rated Outstanding by Ofsted), and an MA in Music Industry Management and Promotion (Distinction). She is also a Certified Piano Technician, trained through the University of Western Ontario.
Lindsay previously led the Music Department at a secondary school in Lancashire, where she taught GCSE and A Level Music. With expertise in both education, performance and piano technology, she has helped students achieve top ABRSM results, music scholarships, and entry into higher education. Her teaching combines strong technical foundations with creativity and confidence, encouraging growth through live performance, collaboration, and community events. Alongside her husband and duet partner David, she brings a warm, student-focused approach that nurtures a lifelong love of music.

David Garvin-Daniels brings over 25 years of professional performance and technical expertise to The Piano School. A graduate of Chetham’s School of Music, David has performed widely as a soloist and accompanist, known for his artistry and deep musical understanding.
Alongside his performance career, David is a highly experienced Yamaha Concert Technician and Accredited Piano Technician (CPT), preparing instruments for recitals, recordings, and examinations across the UK. His technical knowledge enriches his teaching, helping students develop not just excellent technique, but also sensitivity to the instrument itself.
David supports students in achieving exam success, preparing for performance diplomas, auditions, and building strong performance skills — always encouraging creativity, independence, and musical expression.
