Lindsay Garvin-Daniels is an accomplished and dedicated piano teacher with a passion for nurturing musical excellence and creativity. She teaches alongside her husband and duet partner, David Garvin-Daniels, whom she first met as a fellow student at Chetham’s School of Music in 1999, reconnecting years later at a Piano Tuners’ Association training day at the C. Bechstein Centre in 2022.
Lindsay was awarded a music scholarship to Rossall School, followed by a full scholarship to Chetham’s School of Music, where she studied piano and accordion. She later earned a First-Class Bachelor of Music (Hons), a PGDE in Secondary Music Education with Qualified Teacher Status (rated Outstanding by Ofsted), and a Master’s degree in Music Industry Management and Promotion (Distinction). She is also a Certified Piano Technician, trained through the University of Western Ontario.
With extensive experience in both music education and piano technology, Lindsay has supported students in achieving top ABRSM exam results, music scholarships, and successful entry into higher education.
Her teaching philosophy blends strong technical foundations with creativity, independence, and confidence, encouraging students to thrive through live performance, ensemble work, recordings, and community events. Together with David, she brings a warm, collaborative approach to teaching, helping every student develop a lifelong love of music.

David Garvin-Daniels brings over 25 years of professional performance and technical expertise to The Piano School. A graduate of Chetham’s School of Music, David has performed widely as a soloist and accompanist, known for his artistry and deep musical understanding.
Alongside his performance career, David is a highly experienced Yamaha Concert Technician and Accredited Piano Technician (CPT), preparing instruments for recitals, recordings, and examinations across the UK. His technical knowledge enriches his teaching, helping students develop not just excellent technique, but also sensitivity to the instrument itself.
David supports students in achieving exam success, preparing for performance diplomas, auditions, and building strong performance skills — always encouraging creativity, independence, and musical expression.
