Lindsay’s Reviews and References

In terms of reliability, availability, and communication, I have to say that Lindsay is actually the most reliable session musician that I have had the pleasure of working with.

Rehearsal Pianist - Michael Hall Theatre School

Lindsay’s sight-reading is excellent, combined with a sensitivity and ability to follow (I prefer the term anticipate) conductor and singers alike even if sight-reading. My second experience of Lindsay was as rehearsal pianist and subsequently keyboard player for Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Mozart’s Bastien and Bastienne. Her time was given freely and with enthusiasm.

In summary, Lindsay has tackled each job with enthusiasm and professionalism. She is hard working, punctual, very reliable and has never refused or even hesitated when asked to do something. I have no hesitation in giving her a glowing recommendation.

“A great passion for music and hugely knowledgeable around the subject. Also a patient teacher.

Musical Director - United States.

As part of a team of three theatre/music educators, Lindsay was an invaluable part of the curriculum. She has excellent sight reading and musicianship skills, and was incredibly flexible in working under pressure.

Lindsay played for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and played brilliantly for children of varying levels of talent and skill, as well as negotiating frequent transpositions. The show was played with a five person band consisting of Lindsay, another adult, and three students; Lindsay’s contribution to their musical success was tremendous.

In addition to all of the musical work Lindsay did, she was very helpful during the theatre instruction portions of our lessons. This was not something that Lindsay had any training or previous knowledge in, but she approached it with intelligence and good spirit, something which is I appreciated tremendously and was incredibly indicative of the quality of collaboration and work Lindsay would be able to contribute in a more ideal situation.

I am very happy to recommend Lindsay as a musician, accompanist, and all around general collaborator in a musical or theatrical production. She showed great poise under stress, made genuine connections with students, and performed an unbelievably vast array of musical styles with aplomb.

Former Music Agent, Bees Knees

I have known Lindsay for a number of years and in that time, worked with her in various capacities, predominantly as a musician.

She is a pleasure to work with, very reliable and always professional, as well as being punctual and well presented. It is almost impossible to find fault with Lindsay as a musician as she is a feeling and responsive player who intuitively ‘knows’ about music and its vicissitudes.

In addition to this, Lindsay is an excellent sight reader; a skill that most musicians envy, and her speed of reading means that she can play for any occasion at short notice. She is keen to rehearse and I have never known her to cancel.

She is accomplished as a musician with an instinctive flair and ability to fit into musical ensembles as my duet partner and in other capacities, with the versatility to perform on a variety of other instruments and in various combinations.

Finally, Lindsay is very good at arranging music and choosing appropriate repertoires that suits the occasions; from product launches, to restaurants and hotels and festivals. In short, she is an excellent all-rounder with a lot to offer, and a thoroughly good person to know! It has been my pleasure to know and work with her.

Mix Stage Assistant - Abbey Road Studio

The aim of the soundtrack and other musical elements was to act as, what Sonnenschein describes as, an “emotional signifier” i.e. the “spiritual and emotional processes of the characters portrayed”whilst serving other functions in the “technical, aesthetic, and emotional aspects of the film.”

Lindsay was employed as a session musician for the soundtrack within the piece. Her skills included a strong understanding of music theory and the ability to sight read, which not only saved time in the studio during the recording process, but it allowed the piece to develop through the utilisation of improvisation.

Although Lindsay was performing a score based composition, she was encouraged to express musical freedom, and include her own interpretation of the piece, which differed slightly from the original composition. Lindsay was particularly good at adding ornamentation to the piece, and developed the existing arpeggios to a very high standard.

In terms of reliability, availability, and communication, I have to say that Lindsay is actually the most reliable session musician that I have had the pleasure of working with. She has never cancelled a session, and always makes herself available, as well as taking the time to listen to the pieces prior to the session in hand, which results in sessions that are efficient, and allows for additional time during mix down and mastering.

Lindsay had a good understanding of the overall sonic aesthetics of the recordings themselves, and had some valuable input into the tone of the accordion. Lindsay made the decision to use the Musette and compared it with straight tuning, which proved effective. Following on from this session, I have employed Lindsay as a session musician on a number of occasions.
